Shadow from the Beyond

Synopsis

The storyline of this Chronicle involves a celebration for you, the Ascended, being interrupted by a series of Tenebreans falling from the heavens. You're responsible of dispatching them. There appears to be a large deal of possible foreshadowing for the Starfall Prophecy expansion. ​

Entrance
Pelagic Greeter: Ascended! I'm glad you could make it!
Pelagic Greeter: I'm afraid we've already started, but don't worry. There's plenty of food and spirits for everyone!
Pelagic Greeter: You should enjoy the merriment. When you're ready, talk to Quintarus. I'm sure he'd like to speak to you.

Enjoying Merriment
Pelagic Monk: Ascended, you're here! Come, damnce and be merry!
Pelagic Monk: That was fun. You've got moves I've never seen before!
Old Zeke: Ascended! Come and join us for a draught of Mountain Ale.
Pelagic Monk: I need a break after all that dancing.
Rufus: They brew their ale strong. I hope you like it.
Pelagic Priest: I bet the Ascended can't outdrink me! Pick up that mug and I'll match you tankard for tankard.
Pelagic Priest: Ha, it burns going down doesn't it? I dare you to drink another tankard.
Pelagic Priest: Are you feeling a bit woozy Ascended? Give up now while you can still stand.
Pelagic Priest: Hic! Not so tough are you...I bet...I bet...oh. I don't feel so good.
Pelagic Priest: I'm jush gonna *hic* lay here for a while.
Old Zeke: Ha! That will show him to challenge an Ascended to a drinking contest.
Old Zeke: If you're in the mood to drink, come back and we'll raise a tankard or two.
Kondraum: Welcome Ascended! You should try some of this delicious food.
​Princess Mala: You should try the cupcakes. Their absolutely deciduous!

Speak to Quintarus
Quintarus: You stopped Threngar from bringing forthe Martrodraum into the universe.
Quintarus: If that had happened, our universe, and others throughout the cosmos, would be at an end. You are the greatest of heroes!
Quintarus: Look, it's a falling star. It must be an omen for what's to come.
Quintarus: By the gods, I think it's coming straight at us.
Quintarus: We're under attack! Everyone, get to safety!
Meteors land, but they're not meteors. They're Tenebreans.

On Grumdon Arrival
Grumdon: What is this? Where is the corruption. Where is the chaos we were promised?
Grumdon: Foolish mortals. You shall all burn in the fires of our hate.
Grumdon casts something and everyone around him dies but you.
Grumdon: Interesting. You still stand. At last, a foe worthy of Grumdon!

Grumdon: Impossible! How did you defeat me?!?

Conversation with Quintarus
Quintarus: Ascended, I'm glad you aren't dead. Many of my bretheren were no so fortunate. But I will mourn later, when there is time.
Quintarus: Something is disturbing Martrodaum's old prison below the monestery. Go see what's causing it, and stop it.
Quintarus: Good luck, Ascended. We'll help you as we can.

On Thrawn Arrival
I see you have found my little gift. It is a beautiful oculon, is it not?
Thrawn: This is familiar to you yes? You have seen oculons used by Lady Glasya.
Thrawn: We gave her these gifts and she squandered them in defeat it seems. Disappointing.
Thrawn: It would have been easier for you if she had succeeded. Now we tread the harder path, paved in fire and blood.
Thrawn: Take solace, Ascended. You will not die in the inferno my gift will create. Prepare to die by my hands.

On Thrawn Combat
Pelagic Cleric: Ascended, we're making our way down to help you. Hold on just a little longer.
Pelagic Cleric: We've arrived, Ascended. Accept our blessing of healing.
Thrawn slams the ground repeatedly, causing the ice above to shake and crack.
Thrawn: Your universe is doomed. My masters are coming, and they hunger.

On Thrawn Death
Thrawn: Fools! You cannot stop my masters. They come from beyond the cosmos, devouring each universe they encounter. Yours will just be one amongst many.

Oculon Event
Pelagic Cleric: Ascended, that oculon is set to explode! It will Kill everyone unless you can disable it.
Pelagic Cleric: We will summon a Focus Crystal. Use it to channel your Ascended power and disable the oculon.
You use the crystal on the oculon.
Pelagic Cleric: It's protective magic is strong. The power drain on the crystal is making it fracture. Try again before it breaks!

Pelagic Cleric: The crystal broke! We're out of time, unless you have some trick up your sleeve.
​You use the crystal on the oculon.
Pelagic Cleric: You did it! How you drew power from those shards I'll never know.
Pelagic Cleric: The Rhenke were fighting across the trench before we came down. They might need your help, Ascended.

Rhenke Event
Cavalla: Stand fast brothers! Show these dogs the strength of the Rhenke!
Cavalla: Mammal! It's good to see you. We could use your help.
Cavalla: We were setting up defensive outposts just in case Threngar decided to return.
Cavalla: A star fell from the heavens, and then all hell broke loose as fire rained from the sky. Whatever is going on, the answer lies in the Tenebrean Crater.
Cavala: We are hurt badly, but we can still help. We'll summon essences that will empower you with our fighting techniques.
Cavalla: It is done. Fight well, and make the Bloodfire tremble before you!

On Urulynn Combat
Urulynn: Ascended, you surprise me by making it this far. I don't know how you survived my rain of fire.
Urulynn: I told Thrawn not to underestimate the one who killed Lady Glasya. Apparently he ignored my warning.
Urulynn: Your road ends here, Ascended. I cannot allow you to disturb my mistress.

On Urulynn approximately 50% health
Urulynn: You are more troublesome than I realized. Minions, give me your power!
Urulynn is drawing power from the Empowered Oculons. Kill them to sever his connection.

Upon Urulynn's death
Cavalla: The way is clear Ascended. We'll hold the pass in case any more intruders try to stop you.

Entering the Tenebrean Crater
The air is thick with unstable energy, making your skin crawl.

On Samekh Intro
Samekh: You are quite the meddler, Ascended. I traveled through the cosmos to find this universe not ready for us.
Samekh: The Magician was supposed to pave the way for us. He has failed, and will pay for his treachery. None of his parlor tricks will save him.
Samekh: Our agents lay rotting in defeat. My trusted minions are steaming corpses. All because of you.
Samekh: Now you see the face of the puppetmaster. Remember it well, Ascended. It shall be the last you ever see!

On Samekh Combat
Tears open up, radiating cosmic energy. Stand near one to benefit from the power.
Awaken my children and punish this Ascended!

On Samekh's death
Samekh: No! My children, you've killed them!
Samekh: I may be defeated, but vengeance shall be mine. You of all should know, this is not how you kill an Ascended.

Chronicle Complete
Quintarus: Ascended! It's good to see you alive.
Quintarus: I can't believe this was all the work of one Tenebrean. We must learn more about these beings.
Pelagic Cleric: I sense such power, even with Samekh gone. I shudder to think if there were more than one Tenebrean.
Cavalla: Whatever they are, at least the Mammal can defeat them.
Quintarus: I don't think we've seen the last of them. I fear this is just the beginning.
