Rift PTS Datamining – Carnival 2021
Seems like we only ever get PTS updates with new stuff for the major holiday events. Well, that trend continues as Carnival of the Ascended for Rift’s 10th year anniversary has finally arrived on PTS (though PTS is locked at the time of posting this article). A few reskinned mounts, and a few new things as well. Let’s dive in.

New Mount Skins
For Rift’s 10th anniversary we get reskinned Guardian and Defiant mounts based on the Guardian Valmera and Defiant mechanical horses. There are 3 skins for each for a total of 6 new mount skins.
New Cape + “Helm”
New 10th anniversary cape, and curiously a helmet to provide a ruffled collar.
New Backpacks
2 new backpacks with similar concepts but different styles. The white colored one is broken in our model viewer due to some duplicate data defined within the model.
New minions, minion chain, and Artifact set (Updated!)
There are 6 new minions coming with Carnival, and they seem to have a linked minion adventure! This is something we have not seen since Nightmare Tide. Pic of minion list ad tjeir stats is from imathrowback on Ghar Station Discord.
Here is a list of the chain steps that we can see. It looks like you start with Trillian then unlock the other minions through the chained adventures. I expect someone to post a guide on this. (Updated with list of all 11 minion mission step names!)

A new Artifact set has been discovered. “Hero Generation” – “A decade has passed since the Ascended first fought and bled for a brighter future.”. There are 8 total items in this set. However, rewards are not available to the client, they are data from the server so we are unable to datamine this in further detail. The client database name for this set is oddly misleading – “WorldEvent_CA_Year10_InstantAdventure_L70_HeroGeneration”. Maybe this is to suggest that the artifacts come from participating in Instant Adventures? We need to wait for this one to go live to know more.
New Achievements (Updated!)
There are 5 new Achievements as well:
- An Old Dog Learning New Tricks
- Train Trillian Lockwert and his band members to their former glory.
- 10 Years of Service With the Defiants
- Equip any of the 10th Anniversary Defiant Warhorses.
- True Veteran
- Complete the 10th Anniversary artifact sets. Participate in Carnival IAs, 4-hour Minion Adventures and Pinata Hunting!
- Carnival Rush!
- Grab a slice of the Fancy Celebration Cake to polymorph into a Carnival Unicorn.
- 10 Years of Service With the Guardians
- Equip any of the 10th Anniversary Guardian Valmeras.

Last but not least, the 10th anniversary cake. This is based on the cake served at Trion worlds during Rift’s launch in 2011. Thanks to Caduto for the pic of the launch cake!
