Rift Datamining – June 22 PTS (Seasonal Event Spoilers!)

Well, this is a pleasant surprise!  An almost 900MB patch has landed on the Rift Live PTS bringing Summerfest alongside the beginnings of a new Seasonal event.

There are more items arriving for Summerfest than the ones shown here, many of which have been showcased in past datamining articles.  Today’s article will only be showcasing what is new on the PTS for Summerfest, and will not be reviewing content that was previously patched.

Anyway, there’s a lot to cover, so let’s delve in.

New Icons

Starting with the new icons, of which there are plenty.

Summerfest Costume Gear

Leis and Hula outfits (I’m not entirely sure if those are the correct names, I’m just rolling with it for now).  Hope you don’t mind skimpy (at least it’s equal representation)!

With that out of the way, let’s take a look at some of the new headwear.

Summerfest Companions

2 new companion types, with 1 additional color variation.  Hope you like birds!

Summerfest Dimension Goodies

This one is huge.  There are a total of 50 new models, of which 11 are color variants.  Since these color variants haven’t shown up well in our datamining, they will appear as white models here today.

First up, modular hut pieces

A variety of Hammocks, both with and without bases.

And plenty of additional doodads to fill our your beach party.

Finally, we have a new Summerfest dimension – Island Cove (EDIT: Real name found, article updated July 6, 2018).  These pics were taken using TelaraFly.  I have not seen inside the dimension in-game yet, but I assume those giant cylinders are some sort of special effect for the dimension.  This is available on PTS, so if you have a character with the required currency, you can transfer over and check it out!

Summerfest Mounts

On the first night of Summerfest, Trion gave to us… 3 Surfboards.

Summerfest Seal

A new Seal arrives for Summerfest as the gear reward.  This is a huge bump over last year’s seal.

Grim Remembrance

On to the non-Summerfest stuff!  There is a new world event that was patched into PTS – Grim Remembrance.  This sounds like a Halloween event to replace Autumn Harvest.  There are a set of 4 achievements on PTS for this event already.

The updates to the client database suggest the following:

• Several unique new zone events, with boss objectives such as:
  • Defeat Zradulus the Serpent
  • Defeat the Twilight Woods
  • Defeat the Shadestone Lifter.
  • Defeat the Deepstrike Necromancer.
• Zone events might involve the following items:
  • Otherworldly Sourcestone
  • Guise of Death (Tied to one of the achievements.  might be quest-related)
• “Smash Pumpkins for Artifacts!” – new artifact stomp

River of Souls event

Client data updates also confirm that a new River of Souls event IS in the works.  Here’s a quick dump of a few data strings to get the speculation started.

Potential Tenebrean Trouble reward details

It looks like the “Shiny Shiny” weapons will be rewards for the upcoming Tenebrean Trouble puzzle dungeon (aka Toks 2).  This is heavily suggested by the following client database entries.

The client database suggests that the upcoming Wardobe Weekend sale will end on July 5th.  The start date isn’t quite set up right from what we can tell on a first pass review of the data, but it would make sense for it to start June 29th.
